Yamadaya Ryokan – A Favorite for Families in Kyoto

All guest rooms feature tatami flooring and Japanese futon bedding, with some rooms offering a seating area for relaxation. Each room is individually decorated and equipped with an LCD television for added convenience. Select rooms provide a view of the temple across the street or the city.

The ryokan serves traditional Japanese cuisine made with local Kyoto ingredients and organic Koshihikari rice, available for dinner and breakfast at an additional charge. A Kyoto-style breakfast can be ordered in advance and is served in a private dining room or banquet hall. Guests can pair their meal with beverages from the on-site wine cellar, with guidance from a kikizakeshi sake expert and sommelier who offers sake, wine, craft beer, and champagne.

The public bath overlooks a traditional garden and is available for guests to use during designated hours. Men's and women's baths are separated, and they rotate daily so all guests can experience the garden-view bath. A private bath can also be reserved for those who prefer a more secluded experience.
